GLOBAL SUBSIZE EMMC MARKET

INTRODUCTION

A simple storage controller and NAND flash memory make up an embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC), a compact storage device. The technology is made to work with portable electronics like smartphones and, more recently, sensors connected to the Internet of Things (IoT). One integrated circuit (IC), which is permanently inserted in a device, houses both the controller and flash memory.

For portable devices like smartphones and tablets, an eMMC acts as the main storage component. A removable Secure Digital card or microSD multimedia card can be added as a backup. In essence, Subsize eMMC is an eMMC device that takes JEDEC pin definitions into account. It is more compact and needs less space. It is suitable for small-screen applications like TWS and smartwatches.

The host CPU is liberated from low-level flash memory management by a flash memory controller and integrated non-volatile memory system known as subsize eMMC. Product developers now have an easier time designing and qualifying non-volatile memory interfaces, which speeds up time to market and makes it simpler to support future flash device possibilities.

Due to its compact BGA chip sizes and low power consumption, Subsize eMMC is a useful and economical memory choice for mobile devices and other products with a limited amount of capacity.

MARKET DYNAMICS

Longsys created the FORESEE brand with the intention of concentrating on the quality development of industrial storage goods in response to the rising trend of industrial applications.

The values of performance, function, quality, and profession are being worked on. FORESEE has four product lines as a result of persistent work and struggle to meet the memory requirements of a particular industry.

In order to better serve a wide spectrum of customers, the company has expanded its line of goods and solutions to include both consumer-grade and enterprise-grade options. It supports both large- and small-size applications across all form factors. The subsize eMMC, for instance, is designed to fit into compact intelligent devices like smart watches, smart earbuds, and industrial IPCs.

Longsys’s product subsize eMMC is the FORESEE subsize eMMC significantly lowers power consumption based on knowledge of Flash and application circumstances.

The device is compact and thin, and it is downward compatible with accepted industry regulations. The FORESEE subsize eMMC can save 40% to 55% PCB space when compared to an eMMC with a conventional size. The item is appropriate for application settings with constrained space, such as wearable technology.

A new eMMC 4.51 Flash Memory Chip From Transcend Is Available For Low-Cost Devices. The debut of its new EMC210 eMMC storage system was announced by Taiwan-based Transcend Information, a manufacturer of digital storage solutions. Because the flash memory chip has an integrated memory controller, product development is sped up.

Embedded multi-media card products, or eMMCs, are frequently found in portable electronics such as the so-called "internal storage." Internal storage often operates at speeds that are quicker than the majority of widely available SD cards, and Transcend's new flash memory chip is no exception.

The JEDEC 4.51-compliant EMC210 provides read and write rates of up to 140 MB/s and 60 MB/s, respectively. The most recent JEDEC specification for flash memory chips is eMMC 5.1. Samsung's processors also guarantee performance of 13,000 IOPS for writing and 11,000 IOPS for reading. Transcend's press release omitted any indication of the IOPS performance of their chips, however, it is most certainly substantially slower in terms of write speed.
