    According to Sensata, a vehicle that is 10% overloaded can have a 16% decrease in tire life and a 10% decrease in fuel economy. Therefore, safety and tire life can be increased due to the sensor’s data.

     

    With real-time feedback from the sensors, an electric vehicle’s battery management system (BMS) can calculate the range of the vehicle more precisely. 

     

    Tire pressure sensors can be added during the manufacturing process or after the vehicle has been used. Through early detection of a hazardous state of the tires, this aims to prevent road accidents, poor fuel economy, and increased tire wear caused by under-inflated tires.

     

    By enabling the vehicle to modify performance and handling to match the mounted tire, the sensor is also said to aid in better vehicle handling.

     

    Additionally, since it recognizes tire manufacturers, it can make warranty monitoring simpler for tire and vehicle OEMs.
