Batteries are made up of one or more cells whose chemical reactions produce an electron flow in a circuit. Every battery has three basic components: an anode (the ‘-‘ side), a cathode (the ‘+’ side), and some form of electrolyte (a substance that chemically reacts with the anode and cathode).
When a battery’s anode and cathode are connected to a circuit, a chemical reaction occurs between the anode and the electrolyte. This reaction sends electrons through the circuit and back to the cathode, where another chemical reaction occurs.
The battery is unable to create power when the material in the cathode or anode is consumed or no longer capable of being utilised in the reaction
.A battery is a device that transforms chemical energy to electrical energy.A battery’s chemical processes include the transfer of electrons from one substance (electrode) to another via an external circuit.
Electron flow generates an electric current that can be used to do work.Charged ions move through an electrolyte solution in contact with both electrodes to balance the flow of electrons.
Different electrodes and electrolytes cause different chemical reactions, which affect how the battery works, how much energy it can store, and how much voltage it can produce.
The Uganda Battery Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
Bodaerk International Limited have built a profitable e-mobility business in Kampala, Uganda, but they don’t want to be recognised solely for their electric bikes, fishing boats, and walking tractors. Instead, Janos and his partners want Bodawerk to be remembered first and foremost as a battery company, with power packs that enable a wide range of e-mobility and renewable energy storage applications.
Building a successful battery company is a challenging task anywhere in the globe, but Janos and his co-founders have overcome more obstacles than others.
From creating their initial battery packs out of repurposed computers to developing and implementing their own training programme, the Bodawerk team exemplifies what a dedicated group of individuals can do.
Janos is a part of the epMentoring programme, which helps entrepreneurs build their businesses and social impact through one-on-one mentoring sessions with experienced founders and tech experts.
