    The Chinese manufacturer CHTC Motor provides support for the EM plant for Kiira, which is owned by the Ugandan government.They are already building the plant in Jinja, close to Kampala, with the intention of producing the necessary parts locally.

     

    Steel, lithium, and copper from Uganda are going to be used to make the electric buses.The local media also talk about seats made of banana fiber and floors made of bamboo.

     

    In addition, it is not the first electric motor produced by Kiira when e-buses become available in the coming years.The Kiira EM, a two-passenger prototype and the first PHEV designed and built entirely in Africa, was produced by the Kiira team.
