UNDERFLOOR AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MARKET

INTRODUCTION

Building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems comprise air handlers, ductwork, and related elements. They supply conditioned air to reduce heating or cooling loads and fresh air to maintain appropriate indoor air quality.

When using UFAD systems, the air handling unit (AHU) sends conditioned air through ducts in the underfloor plenum to supply outlets where it can flow freely and without obstructions. In the underfloor system, there are numerous small supply outlets near the inhabitants, such as floor diffusers, desktop outlets, and partition outlets.

As part of the design of an HVAC system, underfloor air distribution (UFAD) is an air distribution method for delivering ventilation and space conditioning in buildings. UFAD systems direct conditioned air through floor diffusers into the inhabited zone by using the underflow plenum beneath a raised floor.

In office buildings, underfloor air distribution is widely employed, especially in highly flexible and open-plan workplaces where elevated floors are preferable for cable management.

UNDERFLOOR AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MARKETNEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

Underfloor Air Distribution System (UFAD), Schneider Electric India's first business-to-consumer product, has been introduced at Acrex in Goregaon, Mumbai. Attending the occasion was Schneider Electric's general manager of access floor business.

India is one of the most promising markets, and Schneider Electric is pleased to be a part of this significant launch event in India, said General Manager Access Floor Business.

Schneider Electric IT will enter the B2C market with the introduction of UFAD (Underfloor Air Distribution), a novel idea in comfort cooling that is designed to meet the cooling requirements of office buildings and other public utility structures.

The UFAD system delivers conditioned air directly into the building's occupied zone by utilising the space between the structural concrete slab and the underside of a raised access floor. According to the needs of the customer and the project specifications, this principle can be developed in many forms.

India is a key market for Schneider Electric, according to the director of strategy and business development at ECO Buildings, who also offered his thoughts on the launch. This UFAD launch will provide them a solid foundation in the nation, which is a significant milestone in the international expansion of Schneider Electric. They intend to increase their service offerings there and turn the nation into a significant market.
