    GLOBAL V2X MARKET

    INTRODUCTION

    V2X is used for direct vehicle-to-everything connectivity. Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communications are all included in V2X.

Low latency safety services and operations outside of coverage employ V2X.C-V2X enables communication over the 3GPP Release 14 LTE network and, in the future, the 5G mobile network. Additionally, cellular V2X is intended to connect vehicles directly to other vehicles, infrastructure, and other road users.

By anticipating an approaching red light and stopping the automobile on its own, V2X could stop vehicles from running red lights, even if their drivers are intoxicated.

The term V2X, which stands for vehicle to everything, refers to the communication system of the car, which paves the way for completely autonomous driving by allowing data to be transmitted from sensors and other sources over high-bandwidth, low-latency, and reliable networks.

In the 5.9 GHz spectrum, the ITS band is where C-V2X in the direct mode functions. In 3GPP Release 14, functionality for the 5.9 GHz frequency was first made available. It guarantees communication among all the cars operating in this particular band.

The Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) project corridors that are now in operation, under development, and planned by the FDOT are all included in the Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Data Platform.

It enables an EV battery to release energy into another source, such a building, a place of business, or even the electric grid, and then recover that energy by recharging off the grid later.

The many types of sensors used to create vehicles with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AV) include cameras, radars, lidars, and ultrasonic sensors.

The 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), a cross-industry consortium that aids in defining 5G V2X communications, is one of the organisations in the ecosystem that has given C-V2X widespread support.

Advantages or benefits of V2X communication It enables the driver to go where they’re going swiftly, safely, and affordably. This is made feasible by the accessibility of traffic information, parking lot help, and fuel efficiency improvements, among other things.

Microcontrollers and other devices can connect with one other applications using the vehicle bus standard known as the Controller Area Network.Using vehicular (V2X) communications to detect traffic congestion is a potential strategy since self-driving and intelligent cars are fitted with sensors that can be used to instantly identify an issue anywhere.

    NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

LG Innotek to Launch its 2nd Generation 5G-V2X Cellular Module to Enable Autonomous Driving.LG Innotek has created a 5G-V2X Cellular Module for long-distance data transmission and reception on V2V, V2P, and V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure) platforms. This module, which is based on a Qualcomm processor, delivers ultra-high speed 5G data transmission, which is critical for safety in autonomous driving.

A communication chip, memory, RF circuits, and other supporting components comprise this V2X (Vehicle to Everything) module. It is intended to be put on the car’s roof and to gather massive volumes of data essential for autonomous driving.

The amount of data produced everyday by a single autonomous car is around 4TB (4,000GB), which is the same as downloading 8000 90-minute films. Given the size of this data, processing it quickly is essential. For instance, in the case of an unforeseen collision causing traffic congestion, the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) should be informed of the road’s condition as quickly as feasible to locate alternate routes.

However, there is a chance that additional accidents will happen as a result of cars that are uninformed of the situation if data transmission is delayed.

The first 1st generation car 5G cellular module was released by LG Innotek. The V2X data download speed has been boosted by their newly created 2nd generation module from 35 Mbps to 150Mbps, which is four times faster than the prior version.

In addition, LG Innotek has enhanced the temperature management algorithm to reduce signal loss brought on by heat and sunshine. This improvement guarantees high-quality 5G vehicle connection even in 194 degree Fahrenheit and permits reliable long-distance V2X communication up to 0.62–0.93 miles over the 5G network.

Additionally, LG Innotek has developed its second generation “5G-V2X cellular Module” in the size of 46mm50mm, which is a 20% reduction in size over the present product. The module, which is half the size of a credit card, is simple to attach inside or outside of automobiles.

The second generation “5G-V2X cellular Module” from LG Innotek, which is 20% smaller than the current version, integrates 800 components for 5G communication using its exclusive high-density, high-precision technology. This covers memory, chips for communication, and other components.

In comparison to the first generation module, which had around 480 pieces, this is a substantial improvement. This larger number of components demonstrates greater communication performance and quality.

The most recent 5G standard (3GPP Release 16) from the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) was accepted by LG Innotek to guarantee compatibility regardless of the country, topography, or kind of vehicle. LG Innotek has reinforced its position to draw clients for self-driving vehicle components by increasing the product’s compatibility.
