An electrical switching tool called a vacuum circuit breaker is used to stop or halt the flow of current in a circuit. It works by generating a vacuum inside the interrupter chamber, which houses the contacts. Vacuum circuit breakers use a vacuum to put out the electrical arc that occurs when the contacts separate, in contrast to other types of circuit breakers that quench the arc using gas or oil.
A vacuum circuit breaker has two contacts that are enclosed in a vacuum-sealed container. The contacts are physically in touch when the circuit breaker is closed, allowing the current to flow. However, a mechanism causes the contacts to separate when the breaker has to stop the current.
The vacuum interrupter chamber is essential for putting out the arc. Since there are no ions or particles inside the chamber to support the arc, it cannot re-ignite. As a result, the arc rapidly cools and goes out in a matter of microseconds. Vacuum circuit breakers are very effective in interrupting fault currents and ensuring the secure operation of electrical systems because of their quick arc quenching capabilities.
The Global Vacuum Circuit Breaker Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
