Vehicle detection sensors / parking sensors areproximity sensorsfor road vehicles designed to alert the driver of obstacles while parking.
These systems use either electromagnetic or ultrasonic sensors. Ultrasonic proximity detectors in the front and/or rear bumper Fascias or visually minimized within adjacent grilles or recesses are used to measure distances to nearby objects in these systems.
The system warns the driver with acoustic tones, with the frequency indicating object distance, with faster tones indicating closer proximity and a continuous tone indicating a minimal pre-defined distance.
The sensors emit acoustic pulses, and a control unit measures the return interval of each reflected signal and calculates object distances.
Visual aids, such as LED or LCD readouts that indicate the distance between objects, may also be included in systems.
On the infotainment screen of a vehicle, there may be a vehicle pictogram that depicts the nearby objects as colored blocks.
An ultrasonic system may not be able to detect flat objects or objects that are not large enough to reflect sound, such as a narrow pole or a longitudinal object pointed directly at the vehicle or close to an object.
Return sound waves may be deflected away from the sensors by objects with flat surfaces that are angled from the vertical, making detection difficult.
Additionally, wool and moss, two soft objects with strong sound absorption, may have weaker detection.
The Global Vehicle Detection Sensor Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
OPTEX Virtual Loop sensor - OPTEX Virtual Loop sensor works similar to ground loop, but it doesnât require any special tool and inground work to install it.
Since it is easy to install it and doesnât require a lot of maintenance, it could make a construction period shorter and facility management efficiently.
In order to recognize occupancy of individual parking space, some sensing device has to be used there. In Japanese market, generally ground loops are used to do it.
However, it cost a lot to install it to each parking space. OPTEX has a couple of solutions for this application. Neither one uses the traditional ground loop, and they are easy to install it.
