Vietnam's present healthcare system combines state and private providers. The majority of the public system is set up in a hierarchical structure, with the Ministry of Health in charge of the central level and province and municipal authorities in charge of the local levels.
The Vietnamese healthcare system incorporates elements of both Eastern and Western medicine. The majority of Vietnamese residents currently have to cover the cost of their own medical care at both public and private institutions. Vietnamese citizens frequently choose to use private hospitals since they are frequently better equipped.
Prior to distribution in Vietnam, all medical devices that reach the market must be registered. The Health Service Department oversees and grants registration for class A devices, while the Ministry of Health does the same for class B, C, and D devices.
Importantly, good manufacturing practices (GMP) certificates or certificates of pharmaceutical products, as well as marketing authorization (MA) licences, are required for both domestic and imported medical equipment (CPP).
The Vietnam Medical Devices market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
In August, the group subsidiary Kaneka Medical Vietnam Co., Ltd. opened a new facility that will triple its ability to produce medical catheters. Kaneka Corporation (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; president: Minoru Tanaka).
Kaneka produces medical catheters in Japan and Vietnam, including electrode catheters for irregular pulse testing, gastroenterology intervention for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer*, and endovascular treatment catheters for cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, and neurovascular disease.
To fulfil the strong demand that is growing Vietnamly, they have made an investment of almost 1 billion yen, roughly increasing our manufacturing capacity from the prior level.
People are living longer, especially in affluent nations, and there are more people with cancer, heart disease, and brain illnesses than ever before. Because it is a less invasive procedure for patients, the market for surgery utilising medical catheters is growing on a Vietnam scale.
This year, Kaneka Medical Vietnam will mark its 15th year in business and will continue to enhance its role as a key facility in our catheter production operations
In order to improve patient quality of life and lengthen healthy lifespans, Kaneka will continue to grow its pharmaceutical and medical device businesses.
