Wormshaft grinding of single and multiple threaded items is now possible on the new machine platform, with clamping lengths up to 300mm and swing diameters up to 80mm.
A power tool (or machine tool) used for grinding is a grinding machine, also abbreviated as a grinder. It is a kind of machining where the cutting tool is an abrasive wheel.
Through shear deformation, each abrasive grain on the surface of the wheel removes a tiny chip from the workpiece.
A grinding machine is a tool for removing materials that has bonded cutting edges that are geometrically non-defined and rotate or linearly move in relation to the workpiece. Additional relative feed and positioning motions between the tool and workpiece must be provided by the machine.
The Global worm shaft grinding machine market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
In order to deliver extremely high levels of accuracy and finish in the production of worm gear shafts, Holroyd Precision Limited has introduced a completely new line of full CNC machines.
These new "grinding stations" for worm gears, dubbed the WG Series, use self-correcting CNC technology and Holroyd's acclaimed "SMART" probe.
Users can grind precision worm shafts to AGMA 14/DIN 2 in diameters ranging from 3 mm to 500 mm diameter and thread lengths up to 1,600 mm using the model they choose. A 130 mm diameter through bore work head is included to suit lengthy shaft lengths.
It seemed only appropriate to offer worm gear manufacturers the same high levels of excellence as those provided by their sector-leading TG Series Rotor Grinding machines and GTG2 Gear Grinding models since they are already well known for setting new standards in the production of precision rotors and helical gears.
With high power for deep grinding operations, stringent standards of finish, and quick setup to maximise production and save operating costs, Holroyd's new WG gear grinding stations were developed and produced in the UK.
