The term "construction equipment" refers to all tools and apparatus of whatever kind needed for the execution, completion, or maintenance of any work, including temporary works , but it excludes materials and other items intended to be used in or constituting a part of the permanent work.
The Zambia Construction Equipment Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
Zambia will get construction equipment operator training from Japan, Hitachi, and UNIDO. In order to meet the rising demand for qualified construction equipment operators in Zambia's construction and mining industries, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Government of Japan, the Government of Zambia, and Hitachi Construction Machinery Company have joined forces.
The need for technical skills for operating heavy machinery has grown as the Zambian economy has shifted toward more capital- and skill-intensive industries like mining, construction, transportation, and manufacturing.
Employers in the mining and construction industries, however, have difficulty finding qualified candidates who possess the necessary operational abilities for contemporary technology.
The issue is made worse by the requirement to incorporate technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution into heavy machinery operations.
The four-year project will integrate industrial skills development with industry and labour market demands through a public-private development partnership (PPDP), ultimately promoting productive young employment.
At the Kitwe Vocational Training Center, a centre of excellence for workers operating construction equipment will be collaboratively established to accomplish this (KVTC). From the third year of the project's execution forward, KVTC expects to graduate more than 125 qualified operators every year.
