Force-Sensitive Resistor (FSR) are sensors that allow you to detect physical pressure, squeezing and weight. They are simple to use and low cost.
The FSR is made of two layers separated by a spacer. The more one presses, the more of those Active Element dots touch the semiconductor and that makes the resistance go down.the FSR’s resistance changes as more pressure is applied.
When there is no pressure, the sensor looks like an infinite resistor (open circuit), as the pressure increases, the resistance goes down.
Force-Sensitive Resistor (FSR) are basically a resistor that changes its resistive value (in ohms Ω) depending on how much it is pressed.
These sensors are fairly low cost, and easy to use but they’re rarely accurate. They also vary some from sensor to sensor perhaps ten percent .
While Force-Sensitive Resistor (FSR) can detect weight, they’re a bad choice for detecting exactly how many pounds of weight are on them.
The Global Force-Sensitive Resistor (FSR) market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
FSRTEK Force-Sensitive Resistor – used to collect the resistance change when FSR is stressed.Data collection and recording can be completed in a timely, accurate and convenient manner, and the data can be directly transferred to the computer.
The right force measurement devices is important in obtaining accurate results. The application determines the correct tool.
For example, applications involving grip strength measurement require a device that can conform to the surface of the hand.
Bulky and large measuring equipment can interfere with applications and produce inaccurate data; thin, flexible, and lightweight force sensors would be ideal.
FSR circuits are usually composed of rows and columns intersecting. As this FSR, 16 circuit trace and 16 columns of circuit trace can form 256 intersection points, and each intersection point is a sensor point.
FSRTEK has designed a series of standardized FSRs based on specifications frequently requested by our customers.
The FSRs are simple in principle, easy in data collection, and readily available in specification books for reference, which are suitable for learning and integrating membrane pressure sensor performance into simple force measurement systems.
