A Pitot tube is a tool used to gauge the flow of fluid in ducts and pipes. It consists of a tube with two apertures, one perpendicular to the flow of fluid and the other facing directly into it. The fluid’s velocity is calculated from the pressure differential between these two apertures.
A Pitot tube is put into a pipe or duct where fluid is moving in order to use it as a flow metre. A differential pressure gauge or other similar instrument is used to measure the pressure difference between the two mouths of the tube.
Based on the observed pressure differential, the fluid’s velocity can be determined by applying the Bernoulli equation. The fluid’s flow rate can then be calculated from this velocity.
In the aerospace sector, pitot tubes are frequently used to gauge an aircraft’s airspeed. They are also used in industrial settings to measure the flow of gases via ducts and liquids through pipes.
Global pitot tube flow meter market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Self-averaging flow metre with many ports. The FPD350 Torbar is a multi-port, self-averaging flow metre with a design that is based on the conventional pitot tube idea of measuring fluid flow.
The FPD350 Torbar is appropriate for steam, liquids, and gases. Water, natural gas, flue gas, nitrogen, combustion gases, ventilation air, sea water, cooling water, crude oil, saturated and superheated steam are only a few of the numerous frequent applications. Available pipe sizes for metres range from 15 mm (12 in) to 8 m. (26 ft.).
Spectacular profile form with high flow turndown.Reduced energy costs and consumption, little permanent pressure loss, and a smaller carbon footprint.
Circular, square, or rectangular section ducts with an overall range of 15 to 8000 mm (0.5 to 315 in.) diameter are suitable for a wide range of pipe diameters and shapes.
Asymmetric flow profiles increase accuracy with dual averaging.Available in hot-tap versions, which allow insertion into pressured pipes.Compact volumetric or mass flow metering is provided by an optional integral transmitter and RTD.
