Egypt’s fast-expanding digital economy, information technology infrastructure, and technological advancement are all supported in large part by its data centers. Egypt is continuing to embrace digital transformation, and data centers are the foundation of the country’s digital ecosystem, providing a number of essential services and advantages.
Data centers, first and foremost, offer the crucial framework for storing, handling and managing enormous volumes of digital data.
They serve as the core nodes for housing servers, networking hardware, and storage systems used by companies, governments, and other organizations. They can now effectively manage and offer services, applications, and information to users both locally and internationally thanks to this.
Data centers help to improve cybersecurity and data protection in addition to facilitating data storage and processing. They can use cutting-edge security measures, like as firewalls, encryption, and access controls, to protect critical information against cyber attacks by centralizing data in safe, controlled environments.
Data centers also help firms in Egypt with business continuity and catastrophe recovery. In the event of unanticipated disruptions like power outages, natural disasters, or system failures, they provide redundancy, backup systems, and failover options to ensure that crucial data and services remain available.
Additionally, data centers provide cloud computing services, allowing companies and government organizations to benefit from the scalability and flexibility of cloud technology. These facilities include cloud servers and storage options, making it possible to deploy cloud-based applications, data, and services—something that is crucial in the current digital environment.
The importance of data centers will increase as Egypt’s reliance on digital technologies and online services increases. They are essential to Egypt’s technological future since they not only support the nation’s digital economy but also innovation, commercial efficiency, and overall economic development.
The Egypt Data Center Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Khazna Data Centers, a company based in the United Arab Emirates, has announced plans to open a new data center in Cairo and enter the Egyptian market. For a brand-new million data center at the Maadi Technology Park in the Egyptian capital, Khazna will collaborate with local IT company Benya Group.
The new facility is the “first in a series” of data centers that the two corporations plan to build in the nation in order to “leverage Egypt’s strategic location,” according to the companies. Six new data center locations are being developed in addition to the nine that Khazna already runs across the UEA.
Following the merger with G42 and Etisalat Group, the company’s facilities rose in number dramatically. After the three companies merged, Khazna became the biggest provider of data centers in the UAE.
