    The missile’s tandem-shaped charge warhead weighs 8.4 kg. Any explosive reactive armour is destroyed by a precursor warhead, and the major warhead pierces the basic armour. It can pierce steel armour measuring 800 mm.

     

    Thus, the Javelin has the power to kill any main combat tank that is currently in use worldwide.An FGM-148F variant is available that has a multipurpose warhead installed.
