Typically, woven fabric—which may be coated or uncoated and must be impermeable to gases and flame resistant—is used to make airbags.
Among the most popular fabrics used to weave airbag cushions for general manufacturing and automotive applications are nylon textiles like Nylon (polyamide) CRASHES trigger ignitor-sending electric signals from car crash sensors.
As a result of the heat produced, sodium azide breaks down into sodium metal and nitrogen gas, inflating the car’s air bags.
This molecule is fairly stable under typical conditions. But if heated, it will crumble. The airbag control unit receives a signal from the crash sensor, an accelerometer, in the event of a collision.
The global EV Airbag Fabric market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Launch of new avalanche airbag material by Porcher Sport. The new ultra-lightweight avalanche airbag fabric has been introduced by Porcher Sport, the sports and leisure branch of Porcher Industries, for the safety of skiers and snowboarders.
The company will display the ground-breaking fabric as well as other performance materials at exhibit A4 407-4 during the ISPO trade event in Munich.
Porcher Sport’s new performance fabric, which is 132g/square metres in weight and is thought to be the lightest fabric on the market, has been shown to reduce the weight of avalanche bags by more than 12%.
The material has an extraordinary tear resistance, more than 50% higher than existing airbag materials, and is coated with an in-house developed PU coating that is made to withstand the roughest conditions. Porcher claims that because the cloth is lightweight and portable, the airbag can be deployed more than once.
All off-piste skiers and snowboarders must use avalanche airbags because of the significant avalanche risk. It has been shown that wearing an airbag prevents burials and hence saves lives.
A skier can quickly gain greater buoyancy and soar to the top of dangerous moving snow with the help of Porcher Sports’ innovative performance fabric, which has been devised and has successfully passed rigorous testing.
