    Vard Aquaculture’s new Exact Series enables farms to ensure that broodstock receive the appropriate amount of feed at the appropriate time. The Exact Feeding Robot is a self-contained device that feeds an entire facility. The robot calculates feed quantities based on biomass data stored in its control system. It then runs on a track system that can be tailored to fit the facility’s tank configuration.

     

    The robot’s positioning and movements are always optimised with RFID technology along the track system. It will automatically detect whether there is still work to be done, whether it needs to adjust its speed, or whether it needs to take a break. “This system is a plug-and-play solution that is simple to install.”

     

    The feeding robot was developed after decades of rigorous testing and is intended to be a labour-saving solution for fish farmers while also reducing stress for the fish, according to the company. 

     

    The feeding robot has up to four feed hoppers that can be programmed to refill automatically between feeding rounds. The robot is powered by batteries and charges automatically.

     

    The Exact Mini Feeder, which is available in one-litre and three-litre sizes, is also part of the Exact Series. The mini feeder is designed to give the fish farmer complete dosage control, making it ideal for things like lumpfish startup feeding.
